A new newsapp for Nederlands Dagblad
Intro
Nederlands Dagblad (1944) is a Christian news organization. In addition to a daily national newspaper with a circulation of more than 20,000 copies and a website, the magazine De Nieuwe Koers is published and podcasts are made. The ND is continuously looking for innovation and in 2022 contact was made with Pinch for a new app. The ND was charmed by the NRC app created by Pinch. The good user experience and functionalities in particular stood out. All available editorial content is on Pubble’s publishing platform.
The result
By using the Pubble API and the same codebase, a white label news app can now be created for all 450 titles of Pubble. The development costs are therefore manageable and affordable per app. Within a few months, a news app was delivered with a news feed, digital newspaper and a podcast module. Various news categories can be accessed via a paywall. The analytics show a very large number of users with more than 43,000 downloads. In addition, 65% of online news consumption comes from app users.
