How can you grow your app?

Publishers who start with a news app see that loyal readers who are digitally oriented download the app en masse, partly due to an extensive campaign in their own media. The next step after that is very important to allow your app to continue to grow. Which target groups do you define and how can you persuade newspaper readers and non-readers to download the app. And what do you have to do to get returning visitors?
